Data Protection, Privacy and the wonderful thing that is GDPR

Coming Soon To A Website Near You!

You may be aware that on 25 May 2018, certain legal changes will (have) come into effect concerning data protection and privacy.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (or GDPR as it is more commonly known), I am required, as are all businesses that hold your personal data (yes that includes you), to provide you with certain information in relation to the lawful grounds for my ongoing processing of your personal data.

There’s a thing called “Legitimate Interest” that basically means that as a client of mine I can’t really help you very much if I can’t get in touch via phone, Skype, email etc or let you know about things that might impact on your website, such as security risks or other problems that I might find. Whilst in the main that is the basis of my dealings with you, without your consent I am not “authorised” to send you marketing messages etc, hence my request that you complete the form below so I can be sure I only get in touch with relevant information.

In order to fulfil my GDPR obligations, I have put together a new privacy notice that clearly sets out how I collect and process your personal data, for what purposes I use your data, the legal grounds of processing such data, how I keep your data secure and your rights in relation to such data.

Please read my updated privacy notice and my “plain English” explanation here.

I seldom send any direct marketing communications by email, but I do like to keep clients aware of products, services or changes (such as GDPR!) that affect them and I would like you to continue to receive such communications.

To date, I have often spoken to clients directly about these issues but the new rules have prompted me to seek your approval and to provide me with more details about what you would like to receive so that I can tailor my communications for you.

Please tick the relevant boxes that will appear below to confirm your consent to receive my following email communications:
