Why Your Clients Just Don’t Do It


“I want you to meet me for lunch in London at 1pm today.”

You’ve probably had a string of thoughts go through your head already…

  • I can’t get to London
  • I’m too busy
  • I don’t even know this guy and he’s asking me to lunch!
  • Why would I want to do that?
  • Who’s paying?

So I think it’s fair to say, we’re probably not having lunch together today!

But here’s the point, I’ve not given you any reason to join me for lunch, I’ve told you nothing about the “terms” or why it’s important for you to do so and above all, you don’t know anything about me.


Tell me, “what’s the most frustrating thing about your prospective clients?”

Here’s my guess…

They want to improve their well being but many don’t actually do what both you and they know they need to do.

Simply put - they don’t take action.

It’s a fundamental human failing and it holds us all back (some far more than most) from having and being what we really want.

There’s probably some deep psychological explanation - fear of failure; low self-esteem; lack of real desire for change; happier with the pain of “being” than the perceived pain of “change” etc.

But rather than identifying the real reason and finding a solution to that, most people make excuses…

  • I’m too busy this week
  • The car broke down
  • I’m short on cash
  • There was this “do” after work
  • I’ll start next week

I’m sure over the years you’ve heard them all too.

The issue is that “nothing will change without a change”.

For a different output (result) there has to be a different input (action).

And for you to impact on far more people you need them to stop procrastinating and take the action you want them to. And you can only do that once they agree to be a client or student


So back to our lunch appointment…

What if we already knew each other, maybe not personally but you’d read a load of my blogs and articles and emails and you felt you knew something about me?

What if I told you that I was inviting you, just you, to lunch because I’ve been studying your website and although I love what you do, I can see with a few simple tweaks you could be so much more successful in engaging your visitors?

Lunch is on me, there’s no cost to you and rather than London I’ll travel to you so you won’t be wasting your valuable time travelling.
